Committee

Each RSPCA Branch has to abide by the “Branch Rules” laid down by the national Society, though is a separately registered charity with responsibility for the Branch and its property and funds.

The Committee comprises a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 14 elected Committee members. As a membership organisation, trustees have to be paid-up members of the national RSPCA of at least 3-months standing, though up to 3 additional trustees who are not Society members may be co-opted at any one time giving a maximum of 17 trustees. All are unpaid volunteers, though legitimate expenses may be claimed and reimbursed with the Committee’s approval.

There are 3 elected officers - Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and a number of additional roles may be appointed at the discretion of the Committee.

The Branch holds ordinary meetings on the evening of the second Monday of each month in January, March, May, July, September and November at the Institute Building, Caernarfon. Items discussed may include animal welfare, financial reports, RSPCA Inspector’s report, news from HQ and any planned projects or events. The AGM is held in April.

Each Committee requires a quorum of a minimum of 5 trustees, one of whom must be an officer. The AGM  requires a quorum of 7 current Branch members.

Branch members may attend Committee meetings with the prior agreement of the Chairman. Due to the confidential nature of some of the discussions, guests may be asked to leave the room for part of the meeting.
